gotta love it when freakin idiots turn left while you are driving at them. he sat there and saw me coming and stopped, and then decided, no i'll go anyway. anyone got an extra amber light and bracket i can buy, i really dont wanna pay 55 from mazda for it.
also, anyone got an idea of how to get that jackasses paint off my car. o, and yes he ran, and the cop said he couldnt write me a report w/o giving me a ticket. how it's my fault? i dont know.
said i was "following too closely. it's a wreckless driving ticket $121.50." how the heck was i following when he cut me off turning in front of me!??!?!?! i tried explaining that and he "called his supervisor" who said the same thing. wtf
luckily i managed to stop enough to not t-bone his ***, though maybe i should have.

ouch, sucks
from the cops point of view, anytime you hit someone from behind, its your fault regardless of how they are driving. it sucks, but thats how it is.
you can try some "cleaner" wax to get the scuffs off. if that doesn't work, maybe some light polishing compound, followed by some wax. if that doesn't work, some light rubbing compound - you just have to be careful not to go too hard with it.

use a buffer w./ the polishing compound or what? i'll try the cleaner wax. i JUST waxed it 4 days ago, so hopefully that does it

not trying to be an ***, but without witnesses it will be hard to prove what he did - especially since he took off.
i've never used a buffer with polishing compound, but it would make it easier if you have one. just don't push too hard. if they are only paint marks, they 'should' come right off with the cleaner wax.

i had my bases covered. i'll try the cleaner wax. it has a fresh coat of wax too so hopefully it comes off easily

^^ just totally remove the endlink.. or position it somewhere that it won't hit anything and tape it there.
and no I don't remember, I always just bring my endlink to the fastener supply co near my house.
I really doubt lowes will have what you need. They don't stock much metric stuff, and they don't stock much if any metric stainless stuff.

part number for JUST THE NUT is: 99940-1001
:-) Going to have them order me 4 of them as soon as I get back to Gainesville. I only stripped one but just in case I'll have 3 spares for the other struts

Search for a fastener supply store in your area.
I go to Herbs Fasteners and it's friggin awesome. Walk in, hand the guy at the desk what you want him to match, he goes and finds it, and it's always cheap.
i.e. 4 stainless bolts and washers (the appropriate grade.. forget what it's called, but it's the metric equiv of grade 8 I think) to put the stock hood on my car.. under $3.50
