stupid body shop obviously missed a MASSIVELY leaky windshield post-accident repairs. Apparently I parked at just the right angle for all the water to get directed toward the leaky spot and it was all over.. I could see that it dripped/poured from the a-pillar, and the water first appeared on the a pillar about 2/3 of the way up.

Has anyone had experience with any insurance company filing some sort of 'additional unseen damages' claim on an accident claim that was resolved over 6 months ago? I have a feeling they'll just laugh and I'll have to foot the bill for a new windshield, installation, and fixing all the rust that I'm sure is hiding around the windshield where it wasn't sealed properly.

I gotta go find an emergency wet/dry vac now too.. I had a vitamin water bottle in the car that I used to get as much of the water out as I could while I was still in the parking lot, and of course I took the mats out when I got back.. but my vac would not be pleased if I tried to suck that stuff up.

I don't want to know what the floor looks like under the carpet now.. there's gotta be mold there >_<

edit: just remembered there is a drain plug under the carpet kinda under where the fuse panel is if I recall correctly. I really don't have time for this right now but I gotta do something. I need to get the carpet dry before mold grows (if it hasn't already.. since it has apparently been like this for quite some time)

Damn man sorry to hear that, I'm sure it sucks. I don't know anyone who got a replacement windshield that didn't leak

They didn't do anything with it, that's the problem. It isn't sealed along some section of the driver's side (or possibly the top corner.. I took a few pics, camera is in the car though). Yeah the damage I had didn't look like it would have damaged that but.. maybe it wasn't perfectly sealed and now it's just much worse?

Sucks, with my full, 0 deductible glass coverage this situation isn't covered. If someone *hint hint* was to *hint* smash my windshield with a rock (taking care to calculate with a 99% confidence interval the ricochet area and protecting it from said rock) it would be free :'(

I got a quote from a shop today to replace the windshield and fix any rust that might be under there.. and it's looking like it'll be surprisingly expensive.

just what I needed, I haven't had a job in months :P

checking onlinemazdaparts I can get the following deal:

- $258.45USD - windshield glass (w/o MPS.. i.e. the MSP does in fact have a thinner, lighter windshield which would be nice to have )
- a few 1 and 2 dollar parts
- $14.08 "windshield dam" --not sure if that needs replacing ever.. it's #5 in the image.
- Part #7 is $21.76??? it is included 'for free' with the glass though

that's actually a MUCH better parts cost than the glass shop I called yesterday, and for OEM stuff retail dealer price on the glass is $323.06USD though.. and I doubt shipping that piece of glass to my door from onlinemazdaparts.com would be very cheap. Still though, cheaper than what the glass shop quoted me for parts alone. Too bad they have to break the windshield to remove it from the car --the glass I have right now is just fine (not even pitted or scratched or anything), it's just not installed properly

It rains here ALL the time though (damn you great lakes!!) so it definitely has to get fixed soon. Maybe if I pour hot water on in the winter I can get it underneath the glass, where it'll freeze, hopefully causing a crack?

Just like the Discovery Channel.

Those poor rims--I'll rescue them from that oppressive wheel gap!

That MX5 would destroy the poor fizzle before it even knew what was going on. It's like a bee trying to sneak up on a mountain. It'll probably succeed, it's just not going to do much

Than an NC? How much are you makin to the ground? My bet is that it's not much more than what the average NC is making.

Aren't they 170 crank? I don't know how much I'm putting to the ground (haven't personally dynoed my car) but think MSP with full exhaust (downpipe included), FMIC, cold air intake, polished, VTCS-less intake manifold FS-ZE cams, and a boost controller holding it down at 7psi.

.. so conservative estimate (since that's all I'll do until I get real data) says 180whp. Just because I have the MSP turbo and manifold doesn't make the rest of my car stock, not by a long shot. If it was, I'd have 145-155whp :P

but yeah, no dyno sheet yet, I'm happy with the car.. the numbers would be nice to know sure, but .. someday. Rob has driven the car, he can tell you if it's as fast as an MSP or NC

NCs look like ****. What's with those goofy-*** front fenders? Lame!

NB's where it's at.

Definitely. Though I've driven both and the NC.. isn't worse.

I like the fenders, they give it character overall though NA and NB design is way nicer.

I wouldn't say no to any miata in my garage as long as it has less rust than my Protege!
