Talking Bright Dash Light Problem

I had problem with bright lights on the dash of an old Isuzu Trooper. The 4WD light and the high beam light were just rediculously bright - and of course they were the two you could not dim. I ended up taking the display apart and slapping little squares of window tint film over them - easy and quick!

I hate the door lock positions, every time i put my arm out the window i hit that stupid thing. Also the window tends to freeze up in the wintertime, making it a bitch for sight in the snow. Luckily I fixed that problem by moving to florida.

I can't stand the volume control on the stock stereo. It has a mind of its own. You can turn it up or down, but you don't really know if the volume will get louder or softer and it also jumps several notches at a time.

Overall, I liked my protege, but did have a few complaints

Yes, I hated the wipers.

I've also been locked out twice by opening the door and accidentally hitting the door locks, since it's so close to the door release.

The car floats at speeds above 130 kph as in a lot.

Sure it's a little under powered, but so was pretty much everything else made that year.

It's really not that great on gas for the size of motor compared to other cars in it's class for 2000. I had the 1.8L 5spd

It's noisy on the highway. Some of that was road noise, the rest was wind.

The car handled like a dream through the twisties.

The stock potenzas though, were absolutely useless in the wet or snow for that matter.

Still though, all in all, I've going to miss that car.

Yep! That bugs the hell out of me as well, not to mention if there are pebbles in your tires and while driving off you hear them hitting the underneath of the car!

Also the noise inside the doors!
The other day it was raining and I was parked and I could actually hear the drops of water that would go inside the door from the window and drip down to the bottom!
