This is pretty much how it goes:
If you do somethign to your car and you have a problem later, and want to get it fixed under warranty, they have to prove that your mod caused or affected the problem to void your warranty.

Bingo....the dealer gets paid by the manufacturer for warranty work anyway...more than likely they wont push it unless its an obvious problem..for example if you up the boost and the car cracks a piston you are SOL...

please PM me about this before you do anything. I've actually sued mazda and my dealer over this. If you want ACTUAL information from someone with experience you should contact me.
EDIT....also take a look at my sig if you need a clue!

Technically your warranty can voided for ANYTHING. My dealer told me that I had uneven treadwear on my front tires. That indicated to him that I had been racing. Racing is considered abuse and Mazda doesn't warranty abused vehicles. They also said that my boost guage voided the warranty because anything that ties into the "boost control system" will void your warranty.
If you go in there with a problem and they don't want to pay for it you have no warranty. What are you going to do about it? Sue? They will tie you up in court for years. they had me tid up for 6 months. The whole time I was forced to pay for a car I couldn't drive or remove from their dealership. Six months of fighting back and forth until they squeezed me for everything I had. My legal fees cost double what it would've been to rebuild my own motor with forged internals and a FMIC. Whats the point of fighting them? You're going to lose anyways. They know it. This is the bottom line:
IF YOU ARE AT ALL WORRIED ABOUT LOSING YOUR WARRANTY, DON"T MOD YOUR CAR!!!

You can mod your car You just have to be smart about it. And Most of the time the dealer will actually install the boost guage for you and the pod. Mine even sold me the turbo timer New Vehicle Warranties And Your Rights
No properly installed product on your vehicle will void your original vehicle manufacturers warranty. However, if you experience a problem with an uncooperative dealership, SEMA (Specialty Equipment Manufacturer Association) has detailed information on how to protect your consumer rights.

I think the long and short of what Roddimus Prime is saying that many dealers and manufacturers will find a way out of honouring warranty claims. Modding a car will only give them one more excuse to void it, and they know the majority of the public will just walk away and accept it. Fighting them means a lot of time and money. This extends to just about any product or service, by the way, not just cars - there are a lot of crooked businesses out there, so be careful.
