turbo P5 kit coming soon?

Hey, I was chatting on Yahoo chat with some folks and someone pointed me to a picture at a show of a Dk.Blue P5 with a turbo. Unfortunatly I can't find the article or picture anymore. It was on "overboost.com", I've been looking but can't find it yet. If I find it I'll let you know or if any of you get lucky let me know.
I don't know if it is a one off or a prototype but there is hope!

Blue MP5

I've got one of the shots I use as my wallpaper. So if someone has some space to host it I'll send it to you.

Cool got PiCs!

So here they are, pics of the turbocharged Protegé5 from the Houston Import Export Show.

Mazda's Protegé5 was the official car of Import Expo.

..... and the TURBO

NICE! I love those PICS!
I have a closeup shot of the wheels too:

Any Dyno specs? If this is true, I'd like to know what the overall HP gain at the wheels were and how much boost. Sure hope that this is coming soon, so that I can finally run with all the other BIG boys in my club. Please keep all of us up to date.

Thanks for helping out

Hey all,

Sorry the links didn't work...I too got redirected to the home page for OverBoost.com. Maybe you have to login ($$), OverBoost.com is an online magazine and probably requires a "subscription". I got the pics from a Miata Webpage. I was glad to see others who have been there, Houston must have been a good show...I've heard.

Anyways, I don't know much about the car but I think they are using a small Garrett unit to fit between the block and rad fans. I was wondering about the manifold but they seem to have it worked out nice...its a pretty clean install (uncommon for import systems) and an intercooler would be pretty easy to workout, possibly with a small unit or a battery relocation.

If anyone has a chance to see this car again, please check to see how they ran the oil lines (to where) and if the turbo unit is a water cooled unit.

This is a nice car, now lets see some dyno sheets!

Question

If I'am not mistaken this car was built by the folks in Garland, TX (Iam not shure but it may be the people of RX7.com). One of a kind and not running perfect. Computers

When you say to search "rotary and turbo," do you mean on a specific web page, or just a general web search?

If anyone can find more direct information on this car please let me know. I'm working on my own turbo kit right now and would like to know a little more about the setup they did.

It looks like a Garrett T3 turbo. I don't see what they are doing for a blowoff valve, watgate, fuel control, and I don't see any intercooler setup.

That P5 doesnt have an Intercooler or BOV. Those guys who built it basically just slapped the Turbo on.

Yeah, no wonder it doesn't run right!!!!! Its missing a few key components.

Looking at it closer it looks like a mitsubishi TD04, or TD05H turbo?

Unhappy

What happened is that Mazda gave the shop a couple of days to make something for the show. Not a working "to perfection" unit. I do not know them, but give them a break. It will work sooner or later.
