Does the whine happen in reverse only? Ours does this also but our old MX 6 did this too. I asked the father in law (previous and now current owner of it) and it did that from day one. Don't know if it's a big issue as the MX 6 has well over 200k on the original tranny and supposedly clutch too (don't know if I can believe that though). Anyway let me know what happens when you get it checked out.

this whine happens in all aspeccts of driving, but reverse has a differnt whine. So in realitly there are two whines, the reverse one, and the foward one

It may be your wheel bearings if it increases and decreases with the speed of your car. Not a big problem but you will have to let the dealer take care of it. They have to use a special press to get the bearing in.
Ive had to replace one of mine already. That is what it sounds like to me.

Good luck

its not speed, its RPM,s and as soon as i press the clutch in, the sound goes away im 90% sure its a transmission problem

i would guess release bearing

as for the whine in reverse - normal! see reverse has straight cut gears, which are stronger but louder than heli-cut forward gears. Since you are never in reverse more than a few seconds - the noise doesn't matter.

thats really short to have a throw out bearing go out. but from what you said. i would bet it is. or atleast starting to. cuz it would stop making noise if you had the clutch pressed in. and make it when the clutch wasnt pressed in. of course i always could be wrong.

does it go away if you just slightly touch the clutch pedal?

clutch has to be all the way down, so that the transmission is disengaged
