Talks about ECU

Now like I have mentioned before, I have a 99 1.5L pro from Japan. Someone told me that the ECU is preset and that if you take out plugs like the air sensor etc, it doesn't have to re-read the computer to reconogize anything. It's already there and it know what has to be what etc.

I know this may sound very confusing but that's probably the best that I could explain this.

Is this true? Now like I said, the car is from Japan, so is it possible that my engine would be different compared to the engines you guys have? In that I really do have pre-set ECU etc.?

It doesnt work that way here. It wont work that way there.
If you pull out a plug it will foget everything and go into limp mode thowing a cel.

I know of cars that would work like that but now ours.

if you have a ZL-VE you are running off a OBD I ECU, versus an OBD II ECU in the states...they run differently....hard to make determinations of what one ECU will do based on the other....

unplugging sensors will make any car run funny though

What is it you are trying to accomplish ???

I have a ZL. It's not what I'm tryin' to accomplish really. It's what happened to the car. It was givin' me some sputterin' problems. I got it fixed as in, I found out my injectors were dirrrrty, so I got 'em cleaned and the car started to work fine. However I noticed that sometimes it sputters just like that and I was told that the car probably needs to re-learn the ECU. But it's still happening and well I unplugged the air flow meter just to see what would happen. Anyways, by doin' this, I was just testin' it and I thought that maybe because I did that, the car needs to re-learn the ECU again and it'll run like that for a little while. But I don't know.
