sunroof rattle

Hey ppl,

Noticed a light rattle from my sunroof....it was intermittent and generally seemed to go away when the road smoothened out. Just wondering if this is a documented problem that Mazda is fixing, or just me. I have an 02 LX.

this may sound silly...but did you check all the hold down fasteners on the rack? did you remove the end plastic covers and even check the fasteners under there? if not...that is the first thing I would do...and if you are wondering where they are at....grab the manual out of your glove box and open it...there are some good instuctions and pictures in there on removing the rack....just access the fasteners and tighten them.

BTW...this is the FIRST time I have ever heard of anyone haveing a rack rattle.

Not sure how instructions on tightening the roof rack on a P5 is going to help someone with a sunroof rattle on their LX, but stranger things have happened

My P5's sunroof rattles a bit too. It's not very loud but it happens when it's closed or tilted and I hit a bump. Doesn't bother me too much but I'll probably mention it when I take it in for its first service.

I heard a rattle coming from the roof also and figured out that it was the plastic cover around the sunroof controls!!!!!
