squeaky noise when backing up

hey lately there's been a squeaky noise when i back up and sometimes when i'm accelerating. it sounds like it's coming from the front and lately, i've been doing a lot of stuff like trying to drift with the ebrake. does anyone know what could be wrong?? thanks.

I'm having the same problem too - I'm awaiting a response from others. Does it only make noise in the winter time? Or when it is cold outside...because in the summer/spring/fall seasons there is no noise at all.

Ok, first off all, our fronty Proteges are probably the worst drift cars around, haha. You'd get better drifts in reverse.

But no, unless you drove the front wheel sideways and put it out of alignment, or bent a shock, the drifts are probably not the issue.

You most likely have a worn out belt. If the problem happens only at low RPM, then I'd say get the belts checked. Last thing you want is the timing or alternator belt to blow in the middle of nowhere.

Hey! Quit e-braking!
Our cars are not set up for 'drifting' and it will only fustrate you and irritate the car!

If you 'must' do this - inflate the rears to 45psi to reduce traction. Consider a hydraulic parking brake.

definately not the right car for drifting unless you have a ton of snow around and just want to pull e brakes around corners. You could just cover your back tires with liquid dish detergent too

I was gonna say that he probably just watched Tokyo Drift but then realized we're all replying to a 4 year old post. Oops. =P
