It doesn't even work in theory. I asked a fluid dynamics engineer (M.I.T. graduate). It's an airflow obstruction.
If it's right before the throttle body, it MIGHT create a better fuel mixture, according to him, but most modern cars already have swirling fins in or close to the throttle bodies.
Bottom Line: USELESS and a hazard if it's of poor quality.
