What are the similarities with the kia spectra/5 and the protege/5?

I remember reading somewhere that they were pretty much the same. I Know when I lined up agaist a spectra that thing was exactly the same as the pro. Shape and size.

Even looking at the spectra 5 today that rear end is the same as the pro's. just with an ugly lip.

Anyone think we share parts? I was thinking it might be possible to use there side skirts and lips.

they are not the same platform and do not share parts. the spectra is basically an upgraded sephia. kia used old four cylinder engines from mazda way back when, but thats not the case anymore. other than looking similar, nothing i would think is the same

i got this same call from my local autoparts store asking me to bring the p5 out to compare with a customers spectra5. He was talking smack and I had to hand him his ***.

He kept saying his cost less and I just replied with "well mine is worth more with 26K miles than yours with 5k miles"

Kia needs to fire their creativity team. The S5 is a total rip off of the P5 body wise. Some how Kia managed to make it ugly. IMO.

Drive them both. The similarities will be few and the differences will be obvious.
