Cool Shock from static electricity!!!!

My P5 is shocking me every time I get out. Today I mixed some fabric softner in a spray bottle with water. I sprayed it on the interior. The static shock is gone and it makes the interior smell good. Hope this helps anybody who has the same problem. I used to use it around my computer to disapate the static electricity.

I might try that. I fry myself almost everytime I touch the car. I wonder if it is something to do with the paint?

WHEW! so i'm not the only one!!! oddly enough, the only times i HAVEN'T been shocked is when it's really damp out and the car's all wet from the rain... has anyone tried one of those anti-static antenna's? anyone know if they work or not? thnx for any info!

My P5 will only shock me once in a while. But my Accord does it much more and with more intensity. I notice this in a lot of cars.

any time the humidity is VERY low...your car moving through the air will build up a static charge.....and POW...it bites you...there is a grounding strap you could hook to the bottom of your car and it touches the ground...and it automatically discharges the static when it touches.

here we don't have the problem very often...but when we do...its NOT just the car...its EVERYWHERE...hell you can't even walk two feet with out touching SOMETHING that has a charge built up in it....lol and door ***** are a killer! lol

I took a very thin piece of copper wire and and attached it to my frame under the car and let it hit the ground. At high speeds, the air pushes it up but at a stand still it touches and the car never builds enough to shock. Might want to try that.

I even saw a static elec ark jump between the door and my finger about an inch long one night, freaky

For your computer you spray it on the carpet around the cpu to kill the static charge. You don't spray it in the computer!

I'm going to HAVE to try that. THe static shock is so large it's like a flash everytime i get out of the car. My girlfriend is afraid of getting out the car now and uses her foot to close the door............ hope the fabric doftner thing works.

tires are often the culpret for the static electricity. luckily the way physics works you have nothing to worry about with your computer,
