sedan upper grille removal

I just tried to remove my grille, bit failed cuz I was scared to break something. I had all the screws and clips off, but some of my bumper was bending and it freaked me out. My question is can I drive around without the upper grille OFF or will the radiator get damaged?

Well I drove like that for about a month and then I made my own grill. I know that this doesnt answer your question but this is from my experience. Are you thinking of putting something there.

Thanks. Well, I'm considering getting the plastic peice painted my body color.

Negatize: I don't think your write up will help. I don't have to take off the bumper do I?

I got the upper grill painted body color at a body shop. It looks good. The black grill was too much for a light color car. When I get some more money I am going to have the lower grill and the licence plate bracket painted to match. I am hoping that it will not be too much. Sorry I wont have a digi camera untill christmas, so I dont have pictures

There are a few clip type devides under neither the grill, I had a clip popper tool, and it came right out, without the grill, the bumper moves around ALOT, so don't freak out when things are moving around.

I've been thinking about doing this to my car too, do you have any pictures of the painted grills?
