Arrow Removing the antenna

Because my car is in desperate need of a washing, and I have to use a carwash to do so, do I need to remove the top part of the antenna before running it through the car wash?

The manual says I should...

I'm jut wondering if anyone has done it before and if it's easy to remove. I'd hate to break it.

Gracias in advance

I would remove it, just so it does not beat the hell out of my car. Its easy to take off. Just grab it right below the skinney part and turn. Remember lefty loosey, righty tighty. You would be suprised how many people don't know that.

Yeah, it's really easy to take off and put back on. I just find myself always forgetting to put it back on before leaving the car wash and radio reception is nil without it. It's a bummer when you're back on the highway with no radio and your wife has "borrowed" your Cd collection from your car.

Sorry dude.

I live in an apartment complex with no water hookups, inside or outside. I'd wash it myself otherwise. My car's white, so swirl marks aren't really much of an issue either.

BTW, the antenna came off and went back on without a hitch.

not too proud of your car mazdanewbie......it IS an economy car, not a beemer after all..........came out a japanese restaurant the other night, and the P5 was parked beside a brand new 325i, and people were looking at how I was able to get my tires so far up in the fenders, and the color, they loved the color.....no one gave a crap about the beemer.

If you dont have a water hookup where you live ... look around to see if there is a DIY wash close by... that way you can take your supplies down and hand wash it (DONT USE THEIR BRUSHES).

i don't think he meant what you thought he meant when he said he would rather wash it. Either that or i didn't understand what you meant. I would rather hand wash it, first cuz its cheaper, second cause it looks better cuz the car wash can't get everything, third....it looks better cuz the car wash can't get everything. Maybe i just didn't get what you were saying. Anyway. BLAH
