Rant about 1.6L..Are there any good Engine swaps??

Ok since your 16 we'll cut you some slack...but if you are asking for help, you HAVE to be more descriptive...clanking on the right side??? and you started tearing the engine down?? What "project" did you do? If you have metal in the oil, sounds like possible oil starvation. Regardless, we are talking about a rebuild most likely. NOT WORTH IT.....Another 1.6L will be the cheapest and easiest fix...check ebay...I have spotted them for around $400-$500 on a regular basis..Also check www.car-part.com

the project i have done was rebuilding a kit car. a shelby cobera kit model
i havnt finished it yet. the motors are a little confusing getting toward the transmission and trying to put a shortshifter. tight space

I thought you meant you did something to the protege...1.6L is a great motor, if not lacking a bit in power(although I doubt you find many 1.6L engines put out more power stock with out variable valve timing)....sounds like you got one from someone who did little to no maintenace and had an oil failure

lol well im trying to put a twist on the whole e-thug thing, i think the momma jokes are kinda old, so i figure ill just start throwing out boston crabs to willing litte 16 year olds.lol

well..... yeah... the origonal owner did very little maintenece. he drove it basically to and from camp ladgoon nrth carolina. dont know too much about it.
