Put a new K&N MP5 2002
Has anybody done this on there MP5 2002
I took off all the Air intake parts for sound deading in front of the air box out.So all I have is the Air box back.
Put a K&N drop in filter in nice sound has a nice pep.
I might run another mazda intake hose from front of air box to the hole for a cold air intake. For now.

I thought about doing this, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. It's kind of a poor man's CAI.
If you look at the original airbox, they have the seal from the hood going around the opening, I guess to keep the engine compartment air out of the intake. The problem with the design is that the grill in front of that opening is solid, and that whole little comparment is pretty well blocked off. If you are going to go the whole route with putting a tube where the CAI goes, then I suggest you return your K&N and get the K&N for an intake... then take the damn stock airbox off and attach your tube straight to the MAF, but the K&N on the other end... that's pretty much how the Injen is set up I believe.
