Congrats on the new car! When you take delivery be sure to walk around the car and inspect for any body/paint/other damage that may have been done on the lot or in transport. Look at the front end for rock chips, on the doors/fenders for door dings etc. Make sure there aren't any defects in the interior. Make sure you get the trim pieces for the roof rack with the car (they replace the rack so there aren't big holes on the track when you remove it).
Congrats on the new car!

Your owners manual should have the recommended break in procedure in it. Generally you should not strain the engine (avoid redline) or keep it at a constant speed for long priods (ie vary your speed on highways etc) for the first 1000 miles.
Now get off this board and go drive the darn thing!

You need the trim pieces if you remove the racks - I have the moonroof, and removed the rack to get rid of the wind noise - the difference is night and day.
And - dude please listen to me: You just got a BRAND NEW CAR. It is a sweet ride, with awesome handling, and looks to match. WHY ARE YOU COMPLAINING ABOUT HOW FAR IT IS TO THE DEALER?!?!?!?!
You should be complaining that it's NOT FAR ENOUGH!!
Now get out and DRIVE!!

I'm in NY and except for some parts of CA, we generally have the highest prices. Yours sounds a bit high because I bought my 02 Pro ES in January for 16,666. It was a 5 speed, Premium Package (abs, sunroof, etc), Cargo net, wheel locks and perimeter alarm. You did get the auto and 6 cd changer buy that doesn't justify the price in my opinion. Also, right now in NY there is 5 years at 0% or $500 cash back. Obviously the 0% interest for up to 5 years is the best.
