blue tinted bulbs are not better. A bulb with a blue film (tint) only allows the blue frequencies (light waves) to pass through. Halogen bulbs produce very little light in the blue "frequencies" and so you are essentially wasting the rest of your light. You are not getting as much light on the road as you could with out the blue tint on the bulb. If you have some "better" scientific, reasoning as to why the blue bulb is better, please post it. I won't comment on the IQ statement as you have proved your IQ tonight.....

about these blue lights.... my friend told me that its pretty dangerous to use them to drive through rain cause u can't tell if they are on or not, what I mean is u can't see the reflection of the light from the water coverd ground.
but with the stock blubs u can see the yellowish light on the ground if the ground was wet or dry.
is this true??

That is why some fog lights are totally yellow. Since fog lights are truly for driving in the fog, and fog is basically just moisture lingering in the air. Blue tinted fog lights would be terrible when driving in the fog, I would think at least.

So, when I shine my PIAA Platinum Super Whites against a garage door next to a similar Protege ('92), and they appear much brighter, that's just an optical illusion? That seems to be what that article was saying, although they were picking on the Blues, but they did flame PIAA for claiming that their 55W bulbs are as bright as "normal" 85W bulbs.

There is another mainstream "blue" bulb, the Phillips Blue Vision. Same as the Sylvania. From my personal experience, the light could be brighter on the PIAA's, but only in spots. I have a buddy with those damn lights and the glare off them is bloody killer, not to mention the pattern being fubarred. There are like four places where the light melts the pavement and the rest is sketchy. Sneaky bastards at PIAA.
