I like the look of the 01-02 sedan better than the older ones. And better than all the other cars in its class. The new headlamps are a lot better. I really like the ES ones because they are blacked out.

Somebody needs to make a front lip for the sedans. I don't really care for the big round fog lights on the WW kit, MP3, MSP, and MP5.

I for one like the sedans =). Call me weird.. but I've always preferred sedans over hatchbacks, but coupes over sedans.

But I do prefer the '01/'02 over the '99/'00. But that's just me.. which is why I have an 01, cuz I like it =).

Most ppl will answer that they prefer the look of the car that they have over another anyways. Cuz yes.. we all love our cars.

But.. having said that, the mazdaspeed/mp3 I like.. looks like my sedan but has the nicer bumper and skirts =).

Sorta like how you may think your gf/bf is the hottest.. except when compared to some models who've been suped up (professional makeup and hairstylist). hhahahaha 0.5 * j/k =)

Sorry to all protege sedan owners

hey wassup everybody,

Hey sorry to all you protege sedan owners. I understand if they didn't come out with the sedans we wouldn't have the beautiful protege5. That is just my thought about the cars in general some people think some cars are nice, some don't think the same it is just personal taste in cars and that is life so don't get mad at me for saying what i feel. If I pissed anyone off by this post I am trully sorry no hard feelings.

My .02

I didn't like the 3rd gen when it came out- I thought the front end was too "cute". In my mind the 01 facelift solved that problem, but I never did like the *** end on the sedan. I thought it too plain & to this day I still think the taillights are too tall. However, its still the best looking sedan in its class. But when the P5 came out with, obviously, a much different rear end than the sedan thats what finally sold me on the protege.

I have never seen a 99-00 w/ the fog lights and I must say that it looks nice... but just not as nice as my 02 muahhahahaha lol jk

I don't like the looks of the regular sedan as much as the P5 or MP3 either. So leave him alone its just an opinion. BY the way the MP3 came out becuase the Protege wasn't selling well. Mazda need a method to stimulate young buyers away from the other compacts and it sure as hell worked.

I like them both

I bought my sedan last year because it was significantly cheaper than the P5- and because I had been admiring it since the thrid gen body style came out, just hoping they put a more powerful engine in it.

The P5 is more fun looking and youthfull, the sedan is more refined (or sedate) and seems more european. Both styles look like they should cost more. If they upped the power (200hp), added all wheel drive, refined the interior materials and put in sportier seats, I would easily buy either body style for $25,000 or more. They look that good.

Unfortunately, the thinking in the American market has been that more money must pay for a larger car.

I am a long time nissan driver. When I saw the P5 in a Mag on a tire ad I wanted one. It went the next day down to the Mazda dealer and looked at them. He had 3. 2 were AT, one was 5 speed. I had to have the 5 speed. Plus I got a real good deal. 100 dollars above invoice. Now my "family" car is my toy.

ugly... NEVER!!!!

even tho I am young, I don't like hatchbacks and wagons, the bigger backs just don't appeal to me

I love my sedan, and prefer it over the p5, I would never come close to calling it ugly tho

just wait, my friend knows someone that can do custom body kits, or mold other kits to any car....then I'll have one unique protege sedan, that you can never hate
