Protege Paint codes.

I have a 2001 protege, had ice and stuff smack it plus someone took a small chunk of paint off my door. The label paint code it 4F (supposedly Beige) I bought a small bottle to do a touch up job, but the pain stands out too much. It does not seem to match my car even though the bottle says its the right color and code. The paint in the bottle looks a bit too silverish, even when i put it on the car. Does the pain look the same when dry or is omething screwed up?

Also if i have very small (pin head size) scratches on the hood from salt and they have rust inside would it be advisable to take the rust out somehow with a needle head and use a touch up pen?? Some of the scratches are to the undercoat or bare metal they are miniscule but i want to deal with it before it gets any worse with the rust.
Any suggestions??
