Protege 5 Engine Question

How much pain can a 2002 protege 5's 2.0L Dohc 16valve Manual engine handle?I mean If i put a turbo or supercharger on it how much can it stand?

I have owned the car about a year and have driven it to its limits as a NA car. Would like to up the power some and need to know if I do so will it destroy itself?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

the rods will fail at around 210-220 lb/fts of torque you can run around 10psi on a stock motor

i think he means that he's maxed out his driving ability for NA, so now he'll need more speed to match his driving skills.

Correct. The only thing done to the engine was adding a CAI to allow a lil more top end on the mountains uphill.

There are turbo kits that supposidly allow you to push around 270hp and tq.. ie.. www.hi-boost.com. Is this a lie or is there more involved like will it break at 210 without the ecu upgrade and such?

i think you should save the money you'd put into a turbo and track your car at roadatlanta. then after you are running scca times in your class, then look into a turbo. i can guarantee you right now that mountain runs do not a good driver make. (speaking from personal experience)

Since I am pretty new to the whole thing. What are the SCCA times for a stock protege 5?

As long as I am given the chance to go around corners and not stand around at a dragstip im happy.

<3 Initial D <3

Me and my friend's are into drifting, I don't have my license yet so haven't really done much with it but my two friend's drift sometimes and they are pretty good at it. WE always drift whenever we play any racing game (mainly PGR2).

I'm very eager to see the new epsiodes (11, 12) I think Takumi might get beat finally!

I'm also eager to see this video that tonkabui made, downlaoding now...
