Lightbulb Post Your Fav Color For Protege5!!

Hey guys...Im about to get a protege5 and im on undeceided on the color.
I was leanin toward black mica or silver because theY look pretty good in them.
Also dark tinted windows makes a black protege5 look really nice...but silver is less cleaning and doenst dirty as easily as black

Any advice/comments?

I personally like Silver the best since its both easy to keep clean and makes the car look bigger and more classy, reminiscient of German cars, like the Audi for instance. The Silver also matches the other exterior components such as the wheels, brakes, headlights, etc nicely.

Lighter colour P5's make the various black triming around the car more apparent adding more visual heft.

I was originally going to get a Yellow one, but I had to wait 4 months for it, so I went with a Silver one instead, since it was available in 2 months.

Although I still sometimes regret not waiting for the Silver since it is so eyecatching, and fresh. I realize that sometimes it is too eyecatching, and kinda has a slightly show off attitude.
I too realize that the Silver sometimes looks bland and like every other car out there, but the fact that it is a Protege5 offers enough distinction for me.

I'm not trying to put down the other colours. I'll take one in any colour since all of them look great. It is just my personal opinion.
Whatever works out for you man is what I suggest. And welcome to the board.

Well, seeing that everybody on here has their own opinion and preferred color, your not going to get anywhere. Just pick the color that YOU like and would like to be seen in. All of the colors look great, so whatever you feel looks the best, go with it!

as travis said....its going to be YOUR car....YOU need to decide what color you like best....

I have two...a yellow (mine) and a black one (the wifes/family ride).....if you get a black one.....just be prepared to do some serious housekeeping....when they are clean...they look great....but all you have to do is drive them for 10 minutes and you can see road dust on them again.....Silver shows dirt/dust the least....and it is a popular color....the blue is very pretty as well.....the red and the yellow.....well they are attention getters...so unless you like being the center of attention...which will also include catching the eye of the law as well....I happen to fall into that catagory.....but havn't caught their attention yet...at least not while I was doing anything wrong! lol

Hope YOU decide on something that YOU will be happy with....for I KNOW you will love the car....they are wonderful pieced of automotive art.

not really.....I think ALL the P-5 look great with tinted windows....since they all have the black accents around the windows....once you tint them....it makes the side glass look like it goes from one end of the car to the other....and in fact it stands out MORE on the lighter colored cars....

I should know...I have a black one...as stated above...and the windows are tinted pretty dark....does it look nice.....DAMN STRAIGHT SKIPPY it does.....but it looks great on all the others too.

first of all, welcome to the forum

SO.... I think you've already made up your mind about what color p5 you want. Sounds like you REALLY want a BLACK p5 with TINTED windows on silver(chrome?) rims.

Yup, I think you just did

as a side note, perhaps you should also check out a P5 in midnight blue mica? It is one of the COOLEST color out there

I know, I'm biased

lol.. im still unsure about two things

1. ^^ convinced me that black is really hard to keep clean... so i think silver is alright i guess..so im still 50/50 about getting black/silver

2. If i should wait for mazda6 hatchback..because it looks almost like the protege5 but bigger and more horsepower. Only downfall is the increase in price obviously and if it would look too big for being called a 'sport car'

Any opinions/comments? Help meh before i purchase my p5 :O

i own a red 1 so do i really have to tell ya???
but then on the other hand, as a show car i geuss the black looks really nice.
but i dont really like the silver all to much.
even the yellow was available when i got mine (most dealers didnt have them) but i passed it up.

The Mazda6 is a totally different class of cars. I plan on buying a Mazda6 when they are released, they are great sedans, they will also offer the 5-speed V6 which I am very interested in. You can't really compare the P5 to the Mazda6 Hatch considering that the motor sizes are different, the Mazda6 is bigger and its more a Family car than the P5.

Exterior styling has nothing to do with making both cars the same. For one they are putting the higher HP bigger motor in the Mazda6, its gonna be more of a "Family car" than the P5. I would prefer the Mazda6 Sedan over the hatch, but thats just me. If you don't feel like waiting, and if the price is too much, get the P5, its a great car
