Hey, noticed that you've got a breather filter on your valvecover. I know that this is eliminate re-venting the stray oil gases back into the intake (a slight emissions thing), but does this actually translate into any noticeable benefit?

Even if not, it's probably one of those things I will find myself doing on a quiet summer saturday, because
a) it looks cool
b) those things are like, ten bucks
c) it is something to do under the hood of the car when I am not in a position to blow several hundred more dollars on a "real mod"

Did you do it for the same reasons that I am probably going to, as outlined in a,b, and c above?

BTW, I like the blue anodized oil cap.

There aren't many Mazda ones out there (except for the $3.00 "Mazdaspeed" ones on e-Bay that charge you fifteen more bucks for shipping. And, none of them are anodized). Yours is nice looking... where did you get it, what's it from, and who makes it?

Juddz,

On the breather filter, yes, same reasons as you. Although it's supposed to increase engine longevity and I think increase mileage. Blah. i got it cause it looks good and it's cleaner than that crappy tube.

Believe it or not it's a Honda oil cap. It just happens to thread the same. So they are CHEAP.. Check ebay or friggin Pep boys for that matter

Nice looking ride Mac...but even if no one else wants to say it....what's up with the lights on the hood pal? LOL J/K, I had a set on my 97 dsm and took 'em off after I installed my c/f hood. As for that engine bay...I can't wait til my friggin intake gets here so I can start making it look nice under there also.
Keep up the good work.

Looks crazy aggressive without the grill. Did you move the horn and stuff or cover it with something, how about a close up?

I’m definitely doing the breather filter now, pretty cool. Anything that will increase milage is worth trying. What did you plug the hole on the intake with?

Yeah I want to switch to CF's but I have been spending money on better stuff, like Mazdaspeed adjustable struts ! Plus I have another car I tune on...it gets quite expensive !!

I'll try and get a close up...I just used some of that ricer grill material, then painted it satin black to get rid of the 'bling" effect
