Angry Passenger Mirror Mount snapped

Some donkey-hole cracked the passenger mirror mount- grr! wtf! The power control works fine and moves the mirror which isn't scratched. I wonder if I can just replace the mount. I don't think there's any scratches so maybe I can claim it under warranty like this guy:

happened to me, cuz my brother "accidentally dropped" a basketball on my car. the mounting piece snapped but everything was okay. my mazda guy told me i had to replace the whole thing. so that was about $130 for my brother to pay.

Angry

Damn just went to dealer and it's $178CAD + Tax + $65 for Labour. Even though just the mount is broken I have to change the whole thing.

F! $200 for wheel balace plus this really hurts the wallet. $465 was a almost halfway to new rims.

you should try a salvage yard...could be much cheaper...and the labor charge is a joke...all you have to do is snap off the triangle on the inside of the car and there are 3 nuts to unscrew and then you put on the new mirror. simple, and a lot cheaper.

I installed it myself- getting the inside panel of the door "off" was easy.

The tough part was putting the door back on. Getting the metal rail of the panel over the rail of the door required two people, and a white plastic part came off- hope I don't need it.

It seems ok now.

About how long did it take to take the panel off and put it back on? I ordered the M3 power mirrors to put on after my drivers side mirror got removed by some schmuck on a bicycle....
