P5 all the way....ground effects look great, especially with the big *** foglights....but if you got more money to spend, try and get a hold on the Mazdaspeed protege...you'll get jealous when you realize you don't have an extra 40hp Also, I love my wagon...i'd never go back. Except don't get yellow if you do alot of highway driving. Damn cheapass paint

For the SUV fad to die people will have to become both:

Less Greedy
Less Stupid

I think we can safely assume that one will be around for awhile.

haha i like that, kczoom

Mazdanewbie: yeah I def dont like the P5...i mean it looks cool because of the ground fx, and the antenna, but it pisses me off that mazda doesnt do it for the sedan. I'm just bitter.

its not the wagons that are popular. its really the stock body kits that are being sold....

One of these days, maybe. But it seems like a hassle to do when driving.

Nope, not a fad, but functionality!!
If Toyota Corolla still had the wagon option, then I wouldn't be on this board - too bad for you guys...
Personally, i would have loved a P5 w/o ground effects, etc - less mass; less plastic and a better situation for mudflaps.

I think it says more if you're driving a sedan that you ground effected, rather than buying a stock P5. Anyone can buy that-some old lady. But not everyone has a sedan with a body kit. I'd do it [buy a body kit], but I'm still in college with little money.

I say go for the sedan. I've had mine for 8 months and I love it (except for the door rattles and horrible Mazda after-sales service). I've driven the P5 and find the sedan is a little bit faster and handles noticeably better. But that's not why I chose the sedan; I chose it because I didn't want to drive around in a station wagon, and the P5 is arguably just that.

As other people have said on this thread, don't be a sucker for the body kit on the P5: you can use that extra money (and a little more) to get one for your sedan and be more original. I hate seeing old ladies driving around in P5s with ground FX... just looks weird. Besides, sporty sedans look a whole lot better than sporty station wagons IMHO.

ES all the way!

Get the sedan. The wheels and tires are actually the same. I even like the sedans headlights better because they are blacked out. With that extra 1000 dollars you will be saving you can get the Mazda lip, side sills, and rear valance.
2003 P5's headlamps are now black out...in canada...not for you US folks

well I don't like wagons or hatches, but the Mazda 6 Hatch looks sweet if you ask me, maybe cuz it doesn't come straight down like some hatches.

I would go for the sedan, and hook up a nice bodykit onto it, and incase you weren't thinking of it, go for the standard transmission. and thats all i have to offer, cuz i'm still a kid lol and i don't think I'm making sense anymore, maybe i'm just confused damn who cares, see now i'm not making any sense
