Yep, cut a hole in it. Seeing how your motor's shot, there's so much more you could do:
1) put the car on blocks for yard decor
(add a few more holes and...)
2) it doubles as a bird feeder (seed not included)
3) use it as a "shootin' car"
4) Let the repo man have it
(only after steps 1,2, & 3)

You know, I do feel sorry for you; and many others here have tried to console you & offer advice. But, however, calling Makaveli & FrankD (perhaps)
"morons" isn't exactly prudent, considering that you admit to screwing up your ride, twice (Bent forks & Bent rod!!!).
You got to ask yourself a deep internal question:
"What the hell am I doing to a brand new car?"
If you can't afford the risk, don't take it, man.

you're right patio-the bypass is preventative for hydro lock-but it will still alow for very small amounts of water to enter-there is just no way completely perfect way around ingesting water with the CAI.

I'd rather get the hummer w/ the snorkel over the roof-you could flood the whole car to the roof and submarine it all the way to the other side.

Water isn't really damaging to the engine unless injested in large enough quantities as to fill a cylinder enough so that it cannot complete it's compression stroke. A little water mist won't hurt anything...heck water injection is fairly common for guys using superchargers...

hmmm, you have to love the northerners questioning the veracity of the weather/road conditions as reported by the texans.

having lived in texas I've circumnavigated far too many flooded out low water crossings to realize that if you're from somewhere else you would be asking,"what exactly is a low water crossing?"...that's what you do with the road when you can't afford a bridge.

now having said that, I've never driven my car through anything deeper than say 3-4 inches of running water (and only when I knew the road) even though I have been afforded many opportunities.

where I live now they have a little something called "the stupid motorist law". let's just say it has something to do with water and driving into it.

still sucks though.

its called sarcasm, look it up, its in that big book called a dictionary, dict*shun*air*eee, yeah, that one, ok, yes? now, stop drooling on yourself.

If I wanted YOUR opinion, I'd give it to you.

I know SOME people in this topic have been helpful and I thank them for thier positive comments, but theres a couple that just need to shut the **** up and not have the ability to form thoughts, because the ones they have just take up space and are useless.

-Apparently, you wouldn't know sarcasm if it bit you in the face (or flooded your engine). BTW, the word of the day for you and your "problem": Kismet

look it up, its in that big book called a dictionary, dict*shun*air*eee,

- Given your current dilemma, there are some "little" pamphlets that you may wish to peruse:
Owners Manual, Warranty Information, Driver's Handbook, Insurance Policy. These would likely address all you questions.

yeah, that one, ok, yes? now, stop drooling on yourself.

-I m drooling because my car is sooo beautiful, well-maintained, and runs perfectly. Does yours?

If I wanted YOUR opinion, I'd give it to you.

- Really, then I needn't bother with stating my opinion of you.

I know SOME people in this topic have been helpful and I thank them for thier positive comments, but theres a couple that just need to shut the **** up and not have the ability to form thoughts, because the ones they have just take up space and are useless.
- Yeah, like the post about cutting a hole in the hood of your fucked up ride!

FYI: You posted a thread soliciting advice about a problem of your own creation. This is a free-form forum, what do expect, milk and cookies?

Water on my What

Take your car to the dealer they dont give a rats *** what you did to it.....
They make twice the amount of money if they fix more broken cars,
lets see the mechanics are all on peice rate and need the work so if they open up a engine and get 3hrs to rr the whole motor then they dont make jack for not fixing it cause it had water in it
Most people are doing the right thing and eating the cost but you just spent 20 g's or so for a car only 4 months old
The Warranty companies pay for this that intern we pay for in price of the vehicles we buy it is a big circle that keeps repeating itself over and over again.
Try that on for size.

Just take it to the dealer and say hell if I know.

So... to take this theory further, you are saying the cost of such repairs due to 'abuse' should be spread among everyone, including those who baby their cars and keep them pure stock.... WTF? That's like saying I might as well shoplift from the supermarket as they build that into the prices anyways ....

If you want to go ahead......I for one hope Patio gets his car fixed under warranty. I know if he does it will be a scam, but I hate the damn dealers. They do nothing but give it to you up the ***. If a few of us get to screw the dealers it makes me feel great. Ram it up their asses Patio!!!!! Go Protege owners!!!!

I am not saying that you should intentional do anything
I am purely stating a fact of the industry. Do you think all those mechanics at a dealership would have a job if they only fixed things under warranty that were truly a warranty issue?

How many times have you taken a car to a dealer or even a mechanic and they screw you?? 9 out of 10 times they are going to tell you that you needa new part even if it is fine and dandy

Interesting economic theories above.... to the effect of, 'I know they are going to screw me, so I had better screw them'. I guess it helps keep the US economy going, as was suggested by kosmicride. Pointless for me to respond, so I'll restrain myself and leave it alone.
