The stock one threads right on...same threads....
and TAKE YOUR TIME doing the install.....you can NOT put to much lube on the orings on the outside of the housing...do not BANG on it to force it in the housing....it WILL go with normal force from pushing it in....and REMEMBER...if you can not reinstall the oring off the top AND the snapring...then its NOT bottomed out and not fit in the housing correctly.....take your time...do it right.
btw...if you don't have any snapring pliers...the job it going to take a lot longer...and be a lot harder....however....you can buy a pair at nearly ANY autoparts store for about $5 that will get the job done.
here is the shifter after I installed it. there is a WHOLE thread out there with a complete blow by blow install in it......do a search on threads but myself as the author...you will find it.

Nightowl, just curious how much you paid? I live just outside Toronto and I went by a local performance shop a couple weeks ago and the price I was quoted was like over $300.00.
Sounds a little steep when comparing U.S. prices...even with the exchange rate. I'm still going to get one...just not in a hurry when I hear the price.
Can someone post a reply that has had one installed the a while and tell me how it feels versis stock??

Johnston Research & Performance quoted me something like $285 for the B&M shifter. I saw a similar price posted by someone who checked at a different shop. If Ottawa guys can get them for $250 it might pay to shop around some more..
It's actually an Escort .. no wait, Probe? part number though? Guess they use the same setup.

Guys....I can't do the canadian dollars conversion...maybe you can....here in the US.....$140-150. SHIPPED.....
I got mine from Mitch at Protege5Online.com
SilverproES, the feel of the shifting is VASTLY different...the throws are shortened up quite a bit....one thing that I never really liked about the Pro was how long the stock shifter had to move to change gears.....I LOVE the way the B&M feels. much more percise shifting.

The Universal Currency Convertor is your friend!! <http://www.xe.net/ucc/>
150.00 USD = 233.519 CAD
