Yea I do have to agree with you on that one. I never really get the help I want on here either, but there is a kickass forum called MSProtege that's a helluva more helpful. There's a lot more members so you'll find tons more information over there ... www.msprotege.com

Good luck to ya

i speed shop around the corner from me told me for a motor build, turbo completed, and my trans built up for the power ( auto which parts are kinda rare for..atleast thats how it seems. ) plus install i was looking around $&800osd now i dont know if that a rip off or not but i dont have many options near me..the main reason i want the swap... one the klze is a 200hp motor you may be thinking of the probe gt kl-06 which has 164 hp..but please check for yourself the six has more low end tq verus's the 4 cyl fs motor..hp is exspensive but torque cost more the horse power..if i wanted to turbo this car i would buy the us version kl-06 ( de ) and boost that considering i hear there more boost friendly then any fs motor..but i dont want to turbo a car i want 250hp but i also want the torque to get me going and i juist dont believe the fs will do it for me now i may be wrong but im not willing to find out by the buy now cry later method..i like the protege and the fs motor is great but the dude with 375 hp most likely isnt dropping the kids off at school..not to mention i dont want the headache of tuning a turbo and the constant worring of motor issues..for me the klze is 50 horse less then my goal less then a turbo swap and unique in its own

If $&800osd is supposed to translate into $7800 USD then I would say ... YES, that IS a ripoff! With that much money, you could do wonders with what you already have ...

what options??

ok suppose i stuck with the fs motor first things first i would have to pull the motor out most likely i would stroke the motor and bump compression up im not a fan of turbos..forged internals and some serious head work to help this thing breath better..right there i figure machine work and install $3000 at the least for maybe 40hp..cams, header, intake manifold, throttle body, and lsd and i would be maxed out for a na motor and i might hit 200-220 doubtfully but maybbe..i could hold of on the compression bump and lower to 8:5 and run a turbo but now thats a $4000 jump for turbo.cooler and install not to mention proper tuning..just seems like a pain in the a$$ for at the most 250-275hp

is the bpt motor worth even looing at? i havent really searched that motor..
to me the klze swap seems like the most bang for the buck verus anything else//

dude. I have to ask. How old are you? HONESTLY, how much actual knowledge/skill do you have? How much cash is in your bank account right now?

From just what I can see you're a young kid who has big ambitions and no clue how to get where you want to go. What the older members are trying to explain to you is that they've been around for a while and have seen 20+ kids just like you come and go with the same story. "Money is no object. I'm going to put a 13b-rew in my 1992 DX".... People that say "money is no object" do NOT drive around in proteges.

If you would be REALISTIC with us we could very easily help you out. You need guidance and the best way to get that is to be truthful with us and tell us what kind of budget you ACTUALLY HAVE to work with and what you would like your end product to be. After we know those things we can develop a plan to get you where you want to be.

if you want 250hp, you can just get a basic turbo kit, you wouldnt even need to build the bottom end, which means no pulling the motor.....

it would cost you a LOT less than the motor swap, and the only wiring involved would have DETAILED instructions on how to do it....

I REALLY don't understand the aversion you have to turbo, It's WAY more "bang for your buck" than a KL-ZE swap

not to be an a$$ but your a post ***** arent you..your the guy they call big brother the guy that goes around busting ***** because he read on the net how to adjust an idle now all of a sudden your the king of engines..im foolish in thinking i could actually defend myself against you considering your a ase certfied mechanic and having a strong backround in mazda motors you know anything and everything about these cars..and if i was a young kid and was having a day dream regarding a motor swap stop being a d*** and thinking you know somebody and just give info if have nothing good to say shut the f*** up how hard is it for you to just blow by something in here can you not stop yourself from posting ( suppose not since you average 9.5 post per day ) if you dont believe me fine walk away but dont hop on here and start a debate over my personal affairs if dont know whether i am missing something for this swap or not simply shut up... if you see a flaw in design speak up but dont let it be about, you think im kid and all that other crap..dude whether i bull sh** you or not does that really matter?..does it matter whether im donald trump or some kid have a wet dream about a motor i think i could put in this car..this forum i thought was for info ragarding mazda's not what you think should be..if you think im stupid for trying this fine simply state you thoughts and move along but dont keep coming back and trying to be the funny guy who bashes on the new guy for asking a simple question..

well anyways im done venting theres always one guy in a forum who gives it a bad name i guess thats what your branded as the guy that chases away the people who keep the forums running without smucks like there would be no need for forums
