Talking new '03 p5 on Sat

Hey all, P5 newbie here. Just wanted to say thanks for all the info you all are putting out here. It's already helped me alot. I just got the phone call and my silver p5 arrived today which is a relief because with the longshoremen striking on the west coast I was worried it might be delayed indefinately.

I originally had a red 02' picked out but refused to take delivery after it was rustproofed-paint shielded etc. It came back with a huge ding in the fender and several other chips in the paint. Looked like a dropped shop tool weighing over 10 lbs. or something.

Anyway, I'm glad to be getting an '03 as it is "one year" newer at time of resale. The wait seemed forever. Signed purchase agreement on 9/9. I have only seen one other in the area i live (So.Central WI) and am looking forward to the ride. My primary interests will be breaking her in, when to switch to Mobil 1 and soon-Winter Tires.

Thinking I'll keep my '92 corrolla as for nasty winter drives or super salt baths on sunny winter days. Unless someone wants to give me $2500 for it. Anyway thanks again all, I'll let you know how it goes.

Welcome aboard!! As far as breaking it in... just take 'er easy for the first 500 miles or so, try to use all the gears and at different RPM's... after that, let loose and enjoy!!

Congrats! I just picked up my car lastnight... I was so excited. It's my first car - but doesn't feel like it's mine just yet... still sort of feels like a rental or something. I guess it will take a few days to kick in..
