new P5 owner here
Good morning all. Just wanted to introduce myself. I am the proud owner of a brand new Protege5 in midnite blue mica. I got it pretty well loaded, the only thing it doesn't have is the 6 disk changer and the polished wheels.
Future mods include yanking the turbo off my conquest and slapping it along with the intercooler piping onto my 5 along with new mazadspeed cams for a little more motorvation as well as all the MP3 suspension goodies with some springs and adjustable struts. On the inside, I won't do much, just a good tach and necessary guages along with those conquest seats once they get recovered. On the outside, it will look about the same as it does now. I would like to get those familia headlights but thats about it. I think the lines of the Pro5 are great (big reason I bought it) and don't need any assistance.
I've been wrenching on cars for a while but have a lot more book knowledge than practical knowledge. I know my limits but will experiment when the time is right. Now that I am getting more time at home (no more sea duty) I will be getting much more on the practical side.
You guys seem like a good bunch o' peoples and look forward to sharing ideas with you. Are there any meets scheduled for the NorthEast? Would be cool to get that stuff started if not. Thats about it. See ya'll on the boards.

PoktRokt, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have.
make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Just one comment.....about your future suspension mods.....seems to me you have a contridiction in your statement....you said you want all the MP3 suspension goodies...but then say you are going to do springs and adjustable shocks.....ahhhhhh those cancel each other out.....as the MP3 suspention goodies ARE a special set of springs and struts.......that only leaves the sway bars....lol just in case you didn't know. :{D eitherway....there is a WHOLE forum dedicated to the suspensions of our cars.....dig around in there...you will surely find everything you want to know.
