Need some help now...

I unhooked my DRL's by re-wiring the parking brake wire on my Protege 5 and it worked no prob. But the my auto-starter wouldn't work because it needs to sense that the parking brake has been activated before I shut off the car... so I hooked the wire back up and everything works fine now. But I still want to get rid of the DRL's. Now I have found the DRL module under the dashboard but I am not sure which wires to mess with? Does anybody have a shop manual or wiring diagram for this? Any help would be a big help!

Thanx in advance

Mark

Why would you want to disconnect your DRLs?

You're compromising yours and all other vehicles on the road's safety by driving without DRLs!!

Seeing the DRLs on oncoming vehicles is a lifesaver when you're driving into the sunset or sunrise.

Here in Canada it's the law - all new vehicles MUST have DRLs...

Fooling around with the wiring on a modern car without a schematic (and the ability to read it) can have very expensive consequences.

I don't wanna say "I told you so" (but of course, I will )

hmm, gluck dude, tell us what you find and take some pics yea? might as well help everyone out. I usually cruise around with my lights on anyway during the day however sometimes ill turn the fogs off and keep those for the night (i know fogs on the p5s dont do ish but i like how it looks sometimes without them on during the day, but its not like i can see em while im dricing anyway right?)

Well, I'm slowly figuring out which wire is which. The module has two different wiring harnesses in it. I have found the right and lieft side light wires, and the high beams, what I need to do next is remove the harnesses and solder the wires together. Just got to find out a few more wires first. By the way sorry for snapping the other day Sandman, I was a little pissed cause I had my car in pieces and I had been cramped down under the dashboard of the car for way too long.

Diagrams are on the way I called the dealer yesterday and they are getting them for me on Monday, I'm just testing all the wires right now to get an idea of where everything is, I want to know as much as possible about this before i do it, I hate half-assing jobs, I like doing it right the first time. Therefore I won't have to worry about it again. CIAO

Thats cool man. It's way easier to bitch someone out when you're not talking to him face to face than when you are. Been there done that, regretted it more than once!
