need info on trade in policy help!
i have 2002 es and i just financed it through the dealership at 0% apr for 5 years...i bought the car back in august of 2002. Now what i want to do is buy a mazda 6s but how can i go about doing this? basiclly i wanna know how i can sell my car back and put that money towards a mazda 6. Can i sell it back to the dealership and finance the difference of the mazda 6? or do i have to have my protege fully paid off before i can sell it. Any help or advise would be appreciated thanks

It depends on what you owe on it...If you put a good deal of money down on it, you may be alright. If not, you will be upside down on the loan.
Example: If you bought the car without any money down, you probably owe 16+ grand (Taking into account taxes title etc...) Edmunds has the trade in value of a 2002 ES at about 9000 (which really blows my mind...what shitty resale) In that example, you would be 7 grand in the hole.
You can pretty much trade in a car whenever you want, but when you owe too much, they put that amount into the new car, and you end up buying a 20000 6 for like 25+ grand.
Unless you don't owe much on the ES, or have a lot of money to put down on the 6, you are probably stuck for a while.
