Need help taking off steering wheel

Hello guys I would like to get some help. I already looked at the How to's but did not find anything on the subject matter.

I am replacing my stock ugly 4 spoke steering wheel for a 3 spoke leather p5 wheel. I have the stock almost out already unscrewed the big retaining bolt just need to know how to take it completely out from the shaft. Please guys help would be very appreciated. Thanks

Sit in the seat ,grasp the wheel in both hands Pull hard with a steady pull and wigle it from side to side ,it will come off ,it does so very quickly much like a pop . That is how I removed mine . Before you do this mark the bolt with something to show the top spline ,it makes it easier to see when you go to put the new wheel on

Speaking of, I went to my local Mazdaspeed Dealer... they want 268 bucks for a P5 steering wheel? WTF?!! Does that sound legit or loco?

Hey! Bato! Go to the junkyard, eh? Or someone parting out their car on the FS section?

That sounds about right for a dealership a.k.a. "stealership". Dealers are very overpriced when it comes to replacement parts. Hell I was looking for a 6 disc changer module for my P5, and everyone wanted over 450 bucks for it. I could buy a much better head unit for that price. Thank god for the FS sections. They are FTW indeed.

Sounds totally legit. I know I was looking into the Mazdaspeed Miata wheel and it was 500-550, of course without airbag (since it's interchangeable between the real and fake nardi torino wheel). About half the price for a Mazda part vs a real nardi (your MSP wheel was a Mazda one too, just the Miatas and Protege MP3 got the real thing)
