For STARTERS MUTE....welcome to the board...you found the BEST Protege board on the net!

YES I do......for starters if you will do a search using the SEARCH feature of our borad...its located in the UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER and use the word "shifter" as your search term you will have more to read than you can shake a stick at....it will tell you all you want to know.....you can even find out EXACTLY how to remove the boot and reinstall it....

and just to get you started...the BEST and CORRECT way to shorten your shifter...is to buy a Short Throw Shifter....NOT to cut your stock one up. Get a B&M Short Throw Shifter...you won't be sorry....

oh yeah...and also....if you look in the "FORUM FAQ" which is also at the top of the page...you will find a HOW TO for installing the shifter so you can see just what is involved.

Is there any preferred vendor for the short throw shift kit? I'd rather patronize companies that have been supportive of the Protege community, when I can...

Thanks!
