while were on the topic of stupid ideas, why not just attach the exhaust to the intake, maybe eliminate one of the wheels, cuz lets face it, you already got 3 good ones why have a fourth, and cut the floor out and drive flintstones style

Nah, duct tape is too expensive. I use scotch tape with a little glue. Not to much glue though. You wanna be able to take it off.

WOW...I just bought my Protege and found this forum...tie the exhaust into the intake?...I'm going to try that tomorrow!!!...sounds like the poor man's turbo!!!...I'm also thinking about removing my exhaust completley, running the header into a 12V mobile fridge to cool it down and then hook it up like you guys said!!!I was also thinking about removing my back seat, passanger seat, dash board, and door panels to decrease weight!!!!Then I'm going to dump 12 gallons of ocatane booster into my gas tank (alcohol) ZOOOOMMMM!!!!!!And my last mods will probably be glass removal for weight, paint stripping (more weight), and other parts I don't need...i.e....shifter ****....door lock buttons...cruise control motor....HEY!!!...I can even remove the power steering pump, a/c compressor/system, alternator(I'll charge the battery each night), all I gotta run is the water pump...but I'm working on a way to eliminate that too...I'll have this puppy down to 1000LBs max...ZOOOOMMMM!!!OH MAN, I can't wait!!!!lI can remove all the lights and wiring harnesses that go to them too (more weight) and just drive during the day or move to Antartica or somewhere the sun never goes down!!!WOW!!!!A thin coat of oil will keep the car from rusting, and if I'm driving in Antartica I can remove the bumpers TOO!!!I won't get into an accident...There won't be anyone else around, but I'll have the fastest meanest Protege in the world...Look out...here I come......ZOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM
