My H.I.D's

Ok, I finally got pics of my H.I.D's.

They are out of a 99' Audi A8.

I'm a bodyman at a shop and I replaced a front end on a wreck'd Audi and I gutted the headlights and this is what I got!

The beam is not perfect, but from the drivers seat driving at night is the ****!

What did you have to get out of the Audi? Don't you need a ballast or something like that? I know someonethat works at a Acura Dealership and he said he could get me some HIDs for my car from a lease return if I wanted it but I said that I don't think it would work because I would need more parts. Maybe I could be wrong. What does he need to get me?

Do you have a Protege 5 or just a Protege?
The protege 5 uses a H7 bulb! The H.I.D bulbs won't fit into any other sockets that I've tried, just the H7

I'll take a pic of a set I have out of a BMW to show you what you'll need!

They will only work w/ the Protege 5

they won't work unless you get some Protege 5 headlights

Here are the pics of the BMW H.I.D's

the projector lens is in the pic.

the parts needed are
Ballast (bigger box)
Resistor or whatever it is (small black box)
Bulbs and wiring.

this is a pic of the ballast and resistor box mounted in my P5

Ballast is the box up next to the strut tower
The resistor is mounted towards the front, up close to the light. (white little box)

the projector lens is not in my car, just the bulb and ballasts.

Those are out of a BMW, the ones in my car are from a Audi.

You don't have to use the projectors, the Acura TL doesn't have projectors either just bulbs and ballasts

This is a head on shot w/ my lights on!

The second pic is a close-up of the bulb by itself.

the P5 uses a H7 bulb, and the bulb in the pic above snap'd right in it's place w/ the little spring, it was kinda a bitch to plug the bulb in because the plug twists on to the bulb, so everytime I tried to plug it in the damn spring would un-snap. but eventually I got them in. And it's been 4 months and no problems.

Looks awesome. Does the light blind other drivers? I'd like to get HIDs but I don't wanna blind oncoming drivers and I also don't wanna lose my high beams, since my 99 doesnt' have 2 lenses for high/lo beams.
