A musician's cargo needs...

I am a guitar player with a Marshall 4x12 cabinet, an amp, 2 guitars and a bag of cables etc. I am getting my P5 tonight to HOPEFULLY carry all this to my shows.

Any one on here know if the Marshall cab will fit through the back? Anyone done this?

Thanks, Chris

I've had my Protege5 for almost a year and the only trouble I've had is my bass guitar doesn't fit widthwise in the back. I just need like two more inches!!!! When you put the seats down though it has almost as much cargo room as a small truck!!! You should be able to fit all that and more, I have.

I fit two electic guitars and a small amp in my P5, that with only putting down the 40 side of the split seat.

If I can fit a twin size bed in there with the seats down and the hacth tied down, you should be able to fit a cab in there with a couple of cases. (it's only a half stack right?)

I've fit my entire rig into the back which consists of:

Ibanez S1520
2 10 space racks for the signal processors and 2000 watt amp
1 Laney 4X12
1 Randall 2X15
Ammo box for all the cords

I must say that there is only an inch of clearance at the top and none on the sides. The car rides about 1 1/2 inches lower in the back, but everything fits!

It will fit. I have and ampeg 4x12 cab and it fits in the back perfectly. You have to put the seats down though but the cab will fit perfectly in the back laying flat with the speakers up and the handles pointing towards the wheel wells. It won't fit with the seats up, but with the seats down there is plenty of room for a head, couple of guitars, and your cable bag. You should have no problem with a 1/2 stack. Enjoy your new ride.

Thanks everyone!!

I appreciate the advice! Now go check out my band CO2 at http://www.co2rocks.com. I have 5 or 6 shows this month so I'll be hauling gear all over the place in the new P5!!

hey man, i used to have a p5 (i was side swiped by a drunk and got a mazdaspeed) anyways the sole reason for me even getting the protege 5 was because i had a mesaboogie rectifer cab to move and the protege 5 was the only thing that could move the oversized 4x12. anyways i was able to fit the 4x12 the head a mesaboogie 1x12 combo amp 5 guitars and my korg ms2000 so you are set for cargo i bet u could even fit 2 or so 4x12s in that car

i put two line 6 half stacks(with heads), a 15"bass amp, a 7 piece drum set, 2 guitars, one bass, and a still had room to put someone in the front passanger seat. lets you couldn't see out of the car but it fit.
