MP3 On T.V.!!

Did anyone catch the motor trend car of the year show on speedvision?
They showed the MP3 and talked briefly about it, they also had a yellow pro5 in the mix.
It was cool to see both of them on T.V. for the first time.
They only named the best car of the year which was the Ford Thunderbird. But is was still cool to see them.
They did mention the MP3 when they talked about aftermarket parts, like it already had most of them on it.

And right after that show ended...An import show came on!
It was mostly Honda's but the featured car of the week was the APC Pro5!! You know the one with the "Puzzle Piece" paint!
It looks SWEET!

Anyone else see these shows?

Yes. The show is called "Import Auto Tour." It's on Speedvision. Replays are tongiht at 9:00pm PT for Motor Trend and 9:30pm PT for the import show.

They had some fun at the end of the Motor Trend with a Rockford-style turn. For those of you too young to remember the Rockford Files, starring James Garner, he used to do them all the time. You put the car in reverse, accelerate up to about 25-30 mph, turn the wheel, put it in gear, and when you're going in the right direction, you let out the clutch and go, without stopping. Very cool, harder to do with a FWD car, but it can be done (not recommeded though).

And of course you know why the T-Bird won Car of the Year? Advertising. If you look into the mag, I'm sure that there is probably a HUGE T-Bird ad section. Am I skeptical? Nope. Do I subscribe to Motor Trend anymore? Nope. The best car rarely wins, just the one whose manufacturer pays for the most advertising.

Yeah, I watched both shows today. Thunderbird the car of the year? Naw, not in my opinion, it doesn't look that great, even though they spent the whole show raving about it's look, mystique and heritage. Yeah sure, heritage for those that were old enough back then to like the old Tbirds, but I wouldn't call it a car of the year for the general public. Inside is nice, but it better be when you're paying 36,000 for it.

And that reverse turn was sweet at the end. Import Auto Tour was all rite, but I'm not that much into those cars, I prefer the clean look........ and that APC Protege5 is very innovative when it comes to design and overall look

Hell YA! I didn't see that Rockford turn the first time I watched the show but thanks to Davard I watched the replay of it and seen the turn.
I was like......KICK ***!!!!

I think Davard is right about the T-Bird winning because of payoffs as well, I mean COME ON...there is no way that car is better than all of the cars they were testing. Hell...The whole time they were talking about the stupid T-bird they mentioned more things that were wrong with it then things that were right, or things that could have been made better. Like that stupid hard top that takes two people to take the stupid thing off and then you have to put it on some stupid *** rolling cart so you can put it away. Not to mention that you will NEVER get that car for the MSRP! Every damn dealer in the world will mark that stupid car up 4grand just because it has "Heritage" Ooooooo....

Maybe mazda should have bought more advertising space in thier stupid magazine.

But anyway I think the MP3 should have won, but I guess I'm kinda partial.
