Ok you can add me to the GI. The way I would see it work in a picture perfect world. I would take out my ECU, ship it with payment, and get it back within a reasonable time. In the mean time I will be removing my front bumper and bringing that to the body shop. With my car sitting dead with no ECU or Front Bumper I will be doing other black magic on my car's engine bay.

return shipping is based on whatyou want. I'll look into packaging and rates for overnight shipping of ECU's with insurance. I bet it will be a flat rate (on the safe side) of about $50 for overnight.

If you want UPS ground you can do that as well....return shipping is up to to decide and pay for.

Also, this brings up a good point. Make sure your ecu ships to me in a box that I can use to re-ship it to you. That just costs extra if I have to buy custom boxes.

Yep, I would be shipping to you in a UPS Ground package and return shipment the same way would be good. Seeing as the interest is already high in this, do you have an idea when this should be starting?

i'm honestly dissappointed it hasn't started already. When you special order electronics like this and have to go through 4-5 different touchpoints it takes forever.

I've been billed for the crap so I better be getting it soon. Once I get it done I'll do a test on a local car for everyone and post the results to verify the work was done correctly and then it'll b time to send everything in.

Some people have already sent in their ecu's since they had spares and wouldn't need it for a while. This will put them on the front of the list just as soon as I accept payment.

Add me to the list too please. I'll do it. And to make things interesting this will be for a FP-DE. (1.8L) Every one gets scared cause I've got the engine that no one knows anything about. Different rod length isn't going to effect the ecu.

it looks as though this will not be able to go down unless I can get payment upfront....I'm still not 100% sure so I want to check on that before taking anything from anyone.

For those that don't know I've been in and out of the hospital all week with blackout spells and intense headaches. My work thought that was too much and decided they needed someone who would work 6 day weeks forever and not ask for time off for a death in the family or medical emergencies. Needless to say we parted our ways and I don't think they'll be selling me the hardware at the same price I was getting it before. In order for me to get it now I'll have to pay cash upfront and a much higher price at that.

If this is something you guys still want to do let me know and I'll see what I can do about buying it at wholesale instead of cost. I can't make any promises but I'll try.

Hmm, what a bummer.

Well, sounds like a good excuse to open up your own shop if you ask me.

I want to open my own shop eventually but now isn't the right time. The wife and I will be moving next year and it doesn't make sense to start a business and close it down 10 months later.

No that's true. I always like to see people who actually know cars open car shops. I've been to one too many shops that the owner knows nothing and is just trying to make some cash off the market.

But I guess this counts as commentary, so I'll stop the chatter now, haha.
