MP3 PRO5 Cruise Control Question

We have just takin delivery of our Aussie MP3 and had cruise fitted.Do any of you have cruise fitted. I am very dissapointed with the way mine has been fitted.
1 the bracket for the actuator is fitted underneath the suspension cross brace.Paint has been chipped of the brace.the bracket has no cutout for the brace and is just sandwiched down on top.
2.the control is via a stalk and not fitted to the nardi steeringwheel and when turned on there is no indication via a warning light to tell you when its activated or not.
I beleive there a 2 styles of cruise for the Pro 5 verses the base models. Can any one comment on how theres a fitted on various models.

well our is quite different to the picture shown. It is a right hand drive so there is a brake booster fitted where your actuator is located. They face the actuator to face into the gap behind the strut tower. Now I know why they call you The Man.that was quick.
they must had an apprentice fit it cause they have left some deep gouges in the paint on top of the strut tower.

Hey Edwin...how about putting some BIGGER pictures in there next time! lol :{D

yep it certainly sounds like you got an aftermarket set up or something.....and shoddy work on top of that.....I would be taking it back to the dealer and having the issues attended to NOW. and I dont' think I would be that nice about it either. Let them know you mean business.

I have heard of one MP3 owner getting cruise control. They said (I believe) that the dealer had to get it aftermarket due to design differences from the P5. I wonder about this though.

Well the dealer had to remove the cruise today cause they said there was no OEM available and that what they had fitted is what mazda aust supply. They also have to re spray the top of the strut tower where the installer gouged it.The cruise stalk that was fitted only lasted about 2 uses then worked loose and started to just spin on its axis and you kept hitting it with ya knee. You would think that there is some form of genuine available for the right hand drives seeing as thats the original market they were designed for.Maybe its just the tight ***** at Mazda Aust cutting corners.Other wise very happy with the over all finish of the car

One of the sales people at the dealership I was just at said that he thought the higher HP on the MP3 was due to improved air intake and the like on the engine, not due to a different engine. Might that be the case?

The higher Horse Power comes from advanced timing, and higher octane gas (hand and hand). If you use like 87 octane gas, the car's knock sensors will read the knocking caused by the way the fuel burns, and retard the timing back to the stock 130 HP rating.
