missing nut on shock tower

Since the gas flapper thread seems to have died, I thought I'd raise another: I'm missing a nut on my new ES on the driver-side strut tower. There's a naked bolt nearest the engine. Has anyone seen this or was it not torqued during assembly and has since fallen off?

Can you post a picture of it?

Most cars have numerous blank studs and nuts installed in the unibody for various pieces of optional equipment because it's often cheaper to build every unibody the same way, rather than building different ones for different option combinations. The stud/bolt may be for a part your car doesn't have.

NUUUUUUUUUUUU

Oh my )($%*#% dont do this again ppl...if you all notice, the bare bolt is the same colour as your car...therefore there was never a bolt there in the first place...if there was, the threads would have worn them out and you would notice it for sure...as for the gas cap....The CPC meet on Jan, we all became paranoid and checked for that dam flap, which we all did not have...if it wasnt Sunday, 6 Pros would have motored to the local dealership in question of the missing flap....but guess what, there wasnt one in the first place!!!!!! ok thats enough ranting from me for a day, needed to let off some steam hehe...

lol! Well it's not a bolt, it's a nut. And the bolt (stud, actually) that's missing its nut is not the body color, it's bare steel. Anyway, I'll buy a stupid nut when I'm at the dealers just 'cause it looks dumb without one. --pic comes tomorrow.

Actually, he is pointing at the wrong one. In my car, the one I have missing is the one beside it. Right there... But you´re blocking my view, move a little to the left... can you see it?

Seriously though... I have missing nuts as well (a few of them in my head too). Now that I think of it, I had missing nuts in every car I have owned before (Nissan, Toyota, Civic, and now Pro). So, like Chris (carguycw) said, it´s probably to bolt additional stuff for other markets... or maybe for the strut tower brace.

thanks, Raptor and everyone else. A strut bar is in my future anyway. --Looks like something I'm capable of doing.

Actually....I don't think so.....for two reasons....

1. its diameter is too small for the strut bar mount....

2. Look at the pic above and compare where the two bolts are for the strut bar...and look at his pic....that stud is DEAD IN THE CENTER of the two strut studs.....the strut bars are NOT spaces that way....

HOWEVER.....just looking at the pic you posted.....its for some acc. that is NOT installed on your car....the stud is painted....and is just EXTRA....nothing to worry about at all.

Does anyone know why we have those plastic screw/nut things in the cars in the same area? I noticed when I installed the strut bar that it mentioned those, and they seem to serve absolutely no purpose other than just sitting there...Any thoughts?
