Mazdaspeed short throw shifter?

Hello,
I searched around for awhile, but I couldn't find anything. I was wondering - did mazdaspeed ever make a short throw shifter for the protege (5)? i know they have one for the 3...would that work on the (protege) 5? i was looking into getting on, but if they don't i'm thinking of getting the B&M. Thanks!

www.kartboy.com makes the best one for our P5s, IMO.

kartboy is real nice. I second that..... but YES mazda did make a SHORT shifter...(not short throw). It was in the Mazdaspeed proteges. The mp3's have the same short shifter with different thread patterns for the ****.

I use the mazdaspeed shifter in my p5 because it DOESN"T change the throw any. I prefer that but if you're looking for a shorter shifter with a short throw I'd try the kartboy or TWM.

thanks for the quick response! hehe sorry about the poor use of terminology on my part, i just meant shift, not throw :-P

do you know if people still sell the mazdaspeed shifter for the p5? if they don't, i'll try looking into the kartboy and twm ones as well. thanks! :-D

you should be able to get it from your dealer. Just ask for the shift lever from a 03 mazdaspeed protege.

I've heard rave reviews on the Kartboy shifter.

I was thinking of having a shop cut mine & re-welding it together, since I have an auto w/the manu-matic..it just looks c00l....especially since I put a shift boot and a cf 5-spd ****.

Man, I'm such a ricer...flame on.

Go ahead, this is your 1 & only chance.
