If you abuse it, it won't last that long. And getting something like the Mazdaspeed LSD will solve "some" of the problems with the tranny weakness.
I thought the 3rd-gen Proteges use the F-series tranny. I tried looking at the FAQ, but the link is dead.

I've look at the 2003.5 MP3, the front end is ugly However, I do believe the 2003 MP3 (MP5?) front end can be installed, just don't know how much.

Firstly, its not an MP3, but a MSP , and secondo, I think the front end of the 2003.5 look much better than the 2003 minus the fog lights. Its more aggressive and wider too. The new lip is also very nice !!! Thats just my 2 cents

Well, last night when I went to look it up, it was dead.

Strange that they were busting G-series trannies. When I heard they were breaking transmissions, I just assumed it was the F-series (since that is used in the 4-cyl 626 with the F-series engine). Makes you wonder what kind of abuse they were giving it to break them with only 200hp. Or what they did to the G15?

The link at the top of the webpage is bad, actually, this one is just a little different (theman instead of emann).

I hadn't heard of the transmissions breaking myself, except perhaps with bad shifting, or too soft of mounts ...
