Yep, the screws that the dealer provided was way too long, so after repairing the chip, i went to a hardware store to get a shorter one. And before fixing the plate holder back, I added some foam like pieces to the back of the plate so it does not vibrate as much when I close the hatch. Now it's on nice and tight, without anything digging into the body.

The plate holder is really easy to remove, so i recommend doing it before it starts to rust or anything

Heck, I'm gonna have to go an take a look at that plate holder and behind it! If they used screws that are too long and dinged the paint undernearth you can be sure that I will be having a very nasty discussion with my dealer and the chip will be getting fixed professionally. Now, I'm all worked up over something that might not even be wrong!

Melanizm, I think we got screwed on the welcome kit....Actually, now that I think about it, I did get it........a payment book. "Welcome to your monthly payments!!"

It's ok though, my baby is worth it!!

BTW Melanizm, for the holidays, one of my friends went out and bought me the Injen CAI!!! Gotta love em.

Peace

Oh well, nothing for me either. I guess I wasn't special enough. But I am a little disappointed because I had to buy my touch up paint.

Anyone know a good place to buy plastic screws to replace the metal ones in the front license plate? I took my license plate holder off, but the screws are still in it. If I leave the metal ones in, they may rust.

Is the front license plate holder dealer installed? Or were the holes there from the factory?

It should be dealer installed. Front plates are not required in my place and mine doesn't have any holes in the front. Nice and clean

Ironlung, wow, I wish i had such good friends as yours

Thumbs up

My welcome kit came 3 weeks after I picked up the car. Nicely done, hope I don't have to use the touch up paint for awhile.

I emailed my dealership to find out if they had any info for me. My salesman called me back the next day. He said his gf just bought a P5, and she got one. I bought mine in August and nothing. He offered to send me out some touch up paint, though! Great place. I love it there!

Well, if you goto www.mymazda.com and sign up for the site, it will have a "Contact Us" icon at the top of the page. If you click it, it will give you a 1-800 number, email option, and snail mail option. If you click on the email, it will bring you to another page that allows you to fill out a email to them. It doesnt list their email address since you are using the webpage to send the email. Im not sure if this will work, but their email address in my email is MM@mazdausa.com. This may work if you email them, or may not. I know that some company emails do not allow replys. Try it out I hope this information helps you and anyone else out. BTW, mymazda.com has a ton of cool stuff on it, sign up.
