Master switch question

I have to replace the master swich for my power windows which costs about 160 from dealer. its like 40 on ebay but i want to make sure it'll work. Its compatible with 02 protege so it'll fit my 02 p5 right. I don't see why it wouldn't, but the seller said he's not sure and that i can only get an exchange.

Thanks.

in short... Yes.

Long explanation:
The two are basically the same car (to a point), so most (if not all) of the interior components are recycled from the protege.

The only thing that might not be right is that where it says "AUTO" lights up green on the DX/LX and lights up red-orange on the ES/P5/MP3/MSP.

Never say never

You can always go to a salvage yard. I would suggest already having the electronics exposed when you go. That way you can "try before you buy" without having to take it back if it don't work. Plus you don't have to wait to install it.

Fixed

I took it to a mechanic and he hooked it up to a jumper pack and crossed some wires or something. The window rolled down, proving it wasn't the motor. The switch would roll it up, just not down.

I got a switch from ebay for $40 and put it in in 2 mins. Works perfectly. And the "Auto" light is luckiliy still orange, not green like some proteges.
