Hello everyone, how's it goin? I hope you all are better than me and hope your cars are in better condition too. Well, I managed to damage my MP5 ... not extremely bad, but bad enough to cause some substantial damage. Anyway, I spun out on some sand while coming out of a curve which sent me flying into a curb and a mailbox, so I damaged my front door and side skirt (both of passenger side), and caused some suspension damage on the back passenger side. I was just wondering if anyone by any chance happened to have a spare front passenger door they would be willing to sell, and if it was in yellow that would make me even happier. The door is about the only part I should need, and I might possibly need some suspension parts too. I'm not sure how much damage has exactly been done as I haven't had a chance to take a real close look at it. I guess any tips as to where to go to find cheap parts, or parts at all for our cars, would be very vey very appreciated. Thanks for your time everyone ... wish me luck.

 

Keep an eye on the for sale section. Every now and then there's a person that totalled their car and needs cash but has a lot of parts to salvage.

 

Sorry to hear about your car. Look for salvage yards that specialize in imports, I found one not too far from me and the folks who run it are actually even pretty nice.

 

Well I managed to find a door!!! One of the local salvage yards had a really really smashed up Protege5 ... but to my luck the passenger front door was in perfect shape. I swear that was the only part of the car that was still in one piece... Anyway, my next question is in regards of suspension. Since my rear passenger forward control arm got bent when I slammed against the curb, I simply need to replace it. It's only a $50 part but I don't wanna wait forever to get it, so I've been asking salvage yards about that too. It seems there's a lot more regular Proteges around (sedan types) then Protege5s, so I wanted to know if the sedan Protege has the same suspension setup as the hatchback Protege5 I own.

 

Yes. P5 and Sedan suspension parts are interchangeable.

 

Awesome! Now what's the sedan type that has disc brakes? Because I know THAT makes a difference and a lot of the sedan types I've found around here have drum brakes ... so what type am I lookin for?

 

The ES has four-wheel disc.
