Hi everyone! first post! Just got a 2003 vivid yellow p5 I noticed that a lot of people here have changed their shifters. Is this a difficult job or could an average car buff do this himself? Thanks in advance!

 

It's about a 30-60 min job. The worst part is getting the new shifter back in and getting the c clip to seat. You will need to get the front jacked up or drive it up on some ramps.

You will probably have to modify the heat shield a little to allow for the longer shaft otherwise it will rub.

Pretty simple.
