just saying goodbye
hey guys, i sold my protege and picked up my 2003 jetta 1.8t last night, so i wont be on the forum much anymore. i still have my pro, so i wanna take some final pics before i deliver it to the kid and i'll post them. my latest pics are in my sig, but both of our proteges look much better now than they did in those pics. im really happy with the new car though, me and my brother were drivin around earlier and his modded PRO couldn't hang and i wasnt even really driving it hard. since i sold the pro for something faster, the jetta seems to be a good investment and i have no complaints so far. i'll still be on the forum from time to time answering questions and such, but for the most part ill be over at vwvortex. you guys can still PM me if you need mp3 or aftermarket parts and i'll still hook you up. later and good luck with all the proteges out there.

The buyer of the car is gonna be one happy s.o.b You had a really nice Protege(one of the best I've seen on the boards)
Anyway, if you get a chance put some pics of your Jetta up. I'm sure we'd like to see...or at least me. See ya around...

Good choice by the way.
The 1.8T is probably the best engine on the market. Put a chip and you will get 200Hp at the wheel. Broke the car properly, german car are really fun but the price is that you need to take care of it. Take care of it and it will last really long. I got 2 vw before my pro. and these car are so nice to drive.
keep us inform.

Beware!

I've long thought the Jetta was very cool looking. It rides quietly and has a comfortable, civil ride. The engine is also nice and quiet, and it delivers admirable performance. Interior design and quality is first rate, as all Volkswagens are. That said, Jetta has a longstanding, consistent history of god awful reliability. And repairs are considerably more expensive due to the car's European nature (even though it's made in Mexico).
I'm certainly not ripping on your car-- Jetta's really are cool in a lot of ways. You'll just be paying for it in more ways than one, unfortunately. This burden you must be prepared to bear...
