Just picked up my P5 today, but got a few Q's

1. when driving in a straight line, is ur steering wheel not centered?? mine kinda pulls to the right

2. my strut bar is red.... i could've sworn i saw a yellow strut before on another P5

3. got the factory alarm and immobilizer.... the car arms itself after 30 secs, even if the doors are unlocked, and it keeps freaking me out when it goes off when i open the door.... is there a way to turn this function off??

thanks in advance!!

As far as your car steering off the to right alittle bit that could either be the road or low psi on in the tires on the rights side. If the alignment was off when you took it off the lot I would go back to your dealer and let them hear it.

My sway bar is also red.

I dont have the alarm option.

Mine's also red. I think that I saw a yellow one in the pics of the MP3s.

pulling to the right & red bar

I do believe that all Protege 5's have red strut bars, and the
MP3 model has yellow.

The red and yellow strut bars are painted with the very same
paint that red and yellow proteges are painted with, so you
might be able to find a body shop that can mix yellow paint
to match Mazda's "vivid yellow" and paint it for you.

As for pulling to the right, I had the same problem with my P5,
and I called my dealer. They said (1) drive it for a few thousand
miles to make sure all the parts are worn in correctly before
getting it aligned and (2) the tires are wider, so they'll track the
road differently. That is to say, most roads are crowned -- they
slop toward the curbs -- for drainage purposes. If you're driving
on the right side of the road, you're likely to follow the crown of
the road a bit more than you're used to.

The real test is to find a very flat stretch of road, such as the
center lane of a three-lane highway or a parking lot, and see
if you notice it pulling there. When I performed this experiement,
I found that there was no noticible pull to either side.

And now that I've had my car for a few months, I don't really
notice it pulling to the right, either. I think that probably the
part that needed to get "worn in" was me.

same thing here with the steering wheel - the car doesn't pull, it tracks straight and true. It's just the steering wheel is a touch (and I mean just a TOUCH) off-center.

I had the same thing with my '93 Miata. Just learned to live with it.
