Just passed 10k miles
I went on a little trip today with my mom to look into a home to put my dad in when we go on vacation. I have just over 10k miles on the car now.
I also filled it up and got 30.2 mpg. I finally found out why I was getting worse gas mileage. When I first got my car I was getting 29-30 mpg. Then winter came and I got my first oil change at the dealer. Since then I have been getting 26-27 mpg. I thought it had to do with the weather and letting my car warm up. Plus using A/C for defrost. Anyway, last week I rotated my tires and checked the PSI. The tires were all at 30. I guess the dealership must have lowered it. I bumped them all up to 35 again and am back at 29-30 mpg.
I kind of suspected that it was the tire pressure. Once all the snow melted I was doing more spirited driving on twisty roads and kept thinking that my car wasn't handling as good as it did last summer.

10K...Feels just about broken-in, right? I'm at just short of 12k right now, and the car just keeps getting better and better.
You know, I think my tires are at 30, too. Maybe I should bump them up to 35. Might help the hydroplaning/oversteer in the snow, too (less flotation and all that). Do you have the Potenzas, or something else?

I just rolled over 8000 last night. About the lower gas mileage in winter though, it happened to me also. I thought it was just the additives and stuff they use in winter to keep the fuel from freezing and all that stuff. I usually keep my tires at 33-36 PSI...oh yeah last night I got 33.8mpg (mostly highway though).

My last car, after about a month of owning it it was boring. I have had this car for around 9 months and I still love it. I go out for drives just because I love driving this car so much. I find myself always taking the longer way home too.
I haven't had any problems yet either. My sunroof is making a rattling noise, but I am going to try cleaning it. If that doesnt work then I will most likely be posting a new thread about it.

Hey, thanks for the tire-pressure tip. This afternoon I bumped them up to 35 psi and the car feels more sure-footed. It made a big difference. I'm guessing it will help my mileage out a little, too (which hasn't been bad, around 25mpg in city commuting, but everly little bit helps). So thanks.
